Business Development Manager (BDM) / Milano

Ingenico Italy’s Business Development Manager (BDM) is a senior member of the Ingenico Italy team. He/she will be responsible for improving the company’s market position and achieving the targeted financial growth within the region of operation. Customer centric, constantly exploring new opportunities both within existing customers and in the broader market to expand our business, he/she will play a critical role in building relationships and business with existing and new clients, as well as business partners. He/she will be responsible for establishing and fostering strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders, at all levels of the organization.

The successful candidate will work with the internal product and service delivery teams to ensure both increasing customer satisfaction with our solutions, as well as reference ability.  He/she will proactively identify potential issues and head them off or, where necessary, handle any problems or escalations in a timely and effective manner. 


  • Own and drive pre-sales engagement activities with potential clients and existing clients
  • Identify acceptance opportunities to target, by analysing acceptance gaps and segment potential with key acquirers and merchants
  • Develop and execute against short and long-term strategic plans for clients aligned to Ingenico Italy’s market strategy and to increase revenue
  • Establish trust relationships with clients by actively building business relationships with multiple contacts points in client environments
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements
  • Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives
  • Identify, size and close new business opportunities and contribute to design and packaging of solutions using insights gathered from clients and the market needs
  • Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams  


  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in sales, account management and marketing positions in the areas of digital solutions
  • Knowledge of electronic payments industry and associated products and services
  • A high degree of commercial and contractual acumen
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with aptitude for building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels
  • Result driven personality with proven track record of success in growing existing account and developing new accounts
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong research and strategic analysis skills and ability to conduct the necessary market analysis
  • Strong problem solving skills, with demonstrable ability to proactively working towards solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Fluent knowledge of both English and Italian
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft office tools
  • Experience with CRM tools such as SalesForce will be considered a plus
